Subtraction Beyond 100
Column Subtraction can be performed by first subtracting the digits at ones place and then subtracting the digits at tens place.
For example let us solve the question
Subtract 325 from 927
927 - 325 = ?
We will first subtract the digits at units place that is we will subtract 5 from 7 we will get 2.
We will place 2 at the unit place of the answer.
Then we will subtract the digits at tens place that is we will subtract 2 from 2 we will get 0.
We will place the 0 at tens place in the answer.
Then we will subtract the digits at hundreds place that is we will subtract 3 from 9 we will get 6.
We will place the 6 at hundreds place in the answer.
Hence the answer is 602
